Next-level breakdown service: Renault is building a mobile 3D printer for motor mechanics

RenaultA mechanic who always carries the right tools and can create any missing component using a 3D printer. With this idea in mind, the 3D-printing enthusiasts at Le FabShop set out to convert a car into a mobile 3D printer.

Le FabShop teamed up with Renault to convert a regular car into a vehicle with a 3D printer in its trunk. In the video below, Le FabShop and Renault show you how it works. You create a CAD model and save it to a flash memory card so you can upload the file to the 3D printer in the car. According to the information in the video, the 3D printer will then create a perfect model, no matter how bumpy the road.
